Umm so I have been slacking on this.. Haha, that's why my grade is oh so low. Well I didn't do much this weekend. I was suppose to go to Orrville, but we never went. We stayed home the whole time. But today, apparently my mom went there without us -____-' I'm annoyed by that because she can do stuff while me & Christina are stuck home doing nothing. OH ON TOP OF THAT, I'm super sick. I went home early friday because I was about to die. I lost my voice saturday & I have been coughing really hard ever since. Today, it's not as bad. But oh my, I don't think I can survive. It's my 5th day eing sick D:

1. Night John is a book where a young slave by the name of Sarny learns how to read and right undercover. The plantation she works at is Clel Waller. Instead, the dogs ripped him apart from his toes to his waist. Still hanging there, he had died. Pawley, he would sneak out every night to see his girlfriend and they would spend time laying down and stargaze. They both happen to fall asleep and the workers went on a search to find him. When they found Pawley, they cut his akilies for him to not run away, and he bled to death. Alice, Pawley's girlfriend, happened just get whipped and ran off. Another day, Sarny learned the letters B and C. In the end, Sarny learned how to write the letter A.

2. Mascot is a story where a young black boy is fostered by a white family, the Swerlins. The family put him in a position where all he felt like was a "mascot." The name stuck and he is called the "Mascot." He did not mind the Swerlins calling him nigger in front of him. Malcom is the young black boy and he is put in class at the Mason Junior High School. He was very surprised when his class voted him as class president. Though he felt like a "pink poodle" when this happened. Mrs. Swerlins gave Malcom a job at a restaurant to wash dishes. Malcom was closer to this family than his own, they actually liked him. In English class, Mr. Ostrowski supported that the white students had a career to work toward. When Malcom said he wanted to become a lawyer, Mr. Ostrowski looked down and said he should become a carpenter instead. The racial comments and barriers fustrate him. Someites, he would visit his mother at the mental hospital and his siblings that live in different cities. His father was no where in the picture. Weekends, he would dance to swing music at bars. What he noticed was the interracial romances. White boys tried to force Malcom to ask a white girl out, but he could not. He spent the summer of 1940 in Boston, to visit his half sister Ella. Every second there, he loved it, but when he returned home, his attitude changed. Everyone noticed that it changed. The Swerlins deicided to move Malcom to the Lyons family. Later, he moved in with Ella.

3. The movie The Great Debaters are compared and contrasted at the same time from Night John and Mascot. There were some similarities. In The Great Debaters and Mascot, the setting was put in a white society and racial barriers happened. In all three stories, learning was happening. Though the The Great Debaters had the students in school and Night John had the little girl learning a few letters. Mascot, Malcom went to school as well. In The Great Debaters, Samantha Booke was the first woman to be on the debate team. She made a difference. Malcom wanted to become a high class laywer. Each story had a character that stood out the most. Each character tried to reach their goal and work their hardest. All three stories compare and contrast from one another.

This is annoying. I forgot about this blog thing for a while. That's why my grade is low in this english class.. WELL this weekend. Friday; what did I do, I forgot.. OH, I went to my childhood friends house & we chilled. We walked to his grandpa's at like 1 in the morning. LOL.. Then yea, that was it. Saturday; I woke up pretty late. Showered & such. Then later, I had to help Christina's father & her with this concert thing. This famous thai singer from cali came & we had to help set up the hall party thingy. Me & her sold food & laughed. There weren't many teenagers or kids around our age or what ever. But we still had fun with each other. We always do, haa. Then packed up in a car with drunkies. The driver was sober though, ahah. I was sitting on Christina's lap & everything. It was pretty funny because our aunt was saying how messed up her best friend was for leaving her there & such. Like the tone of her voice. Well yeh. Then today, sunday; didn't do much. Got myself a TV, finally. But it's not like I watch tv anyways. I never do. That's why when people ask if I watch blahblahblah, I say no right away, hahah. Sorry people, call me lame & such, but TV isn't my thing.. It hasn't caught my attention lately. I've been reading. Well yeh, just saying. Fun weekend(:

Today was weird.. I had not that much hours of sleep, but I woke up not feeling tired AT ALL. We had a little family get together, I guess. People came here & then. I was downloading music the whole time. Ummm well I ate the rest of the salt & vinegar chips, I feel super fat. My phone spazzed out too, ahha. Umm well I have no idea what else to say. Hhaha. OHH, I got a new them for my phone :P

Uh well this weekend; today, family's cooking a lot of food, for some reason. Haha. Christina & I want to hang out with our friend, but he's in Springfield at the moment, I have no idea why. He said he'll try to because we haven't hanged out for a while, haha. Well tomorrow; I have no idea. It always just comes, it's usually chill with the family.

What a busy weekend..

Friday; I waited for my aunt to get me & then we drove all the way out west to get my cousin & then drove back to my place. But I didn't have the right key. So me & my cousin, Christina, were standing outside for 30 minutes, waiting on my dad to come. Good thing it was nice out, haa. Then we got inside & waited for my mom to come home. When she did, we went to Tuttle Mall & walked around, window shopped(:
& then went home.
Saturday; My little sister's birthday. We didn't do much for her, but I had to be nice to her the whole day, aha, I'm usually a bully to her. But there was a wedding we had to go to that night. We got ready the WHOLE day, basically. Christina did my hair & after that, we went to polaris mall for a little while. Then came back home & really got ready. We put on our dresses, make up, etc. Finally, it was getting late, we ended up going for the reception & in time for the slow dancing(:
The cutest thing ever. The married couple, I didn't expect them to get married. I saw them around, it was a shocker.
Sunday; Relaxing day, in a way. Just woke up really early & stayed awake. I'm really tired. Went to my dad's friend's cookout to eat && then went to my cousins cookout, which is Christina's brother. He's leaving back to the air force wednesday, but he has to be in the hotel by tomorrow.. So it was for him. I'll miss him, I didn't get to hang out with him a lot.. & now, I'm home, typing this long blog you COULD'VE read, or didn't read. haha.

The weekend.

Yesterday was my cousins birthday & everybody planned a surprise party for her tomorrow, on saturday. But apparently, she somehow knew about it. The whole point of the surprise party was to surprise EVERYONE. BECAUSE, my cousin from the airforce is coming back since a whole year & no one knows but me, my cousin [his sister], my mom & my brother only knew & his parents as well. Then the birthday girl is just going to pretend to be surprised tomorrow, ahah.

Random rant..

I felt light headed all day & I thought I was going to come home, take medicine & take a nap. But, NO! I finished everything else & when I got to the English essay & my Health project, I was doomed. I have a crappy laptop that doesn't have all those microsoft stuff. So my mom took me to the library & it was PACKED && it was almost closing time & the computer I was assigned to, a guy was using it. I had to wait 15 minutes & 30 minutes was left for closing time. So we both just left. We drove off to my cousins house which is on the other side of columbus. I typed everything for English, got that done & Health, I had to print it out. The printer was NOT working worth anything. Until about an hour later, it started to print it out. I sat there & drank a whole can of sprite in the mean time & have killed my head staring at the screen.. I think I had enough of projects & school just started.. ]:

I don't know what to blog about, but.. I'm hungry & i'm about to go eat! ;D
